The Future Leaders Speech Contest, organized by Eduprogress Co., Ltd. with support from Trinity College London, aims to provide a platform for young people aged 6-18 to showcase their English-speaking and leadership skills while developing confidence in public speaking. This event offers participants the opportunity to practice effective communication in English and fosters essential 21st-century skills crucial for success in the modern world.
The contest is divided into categories based on age groups and the extent of English language usage in the participants’ educational environments. It consists of two rounds: an online preliminary video submission round open to all, and a live final round at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre for the selected finalists.
To support participants with limited experience in speech preparation, all participants have the opportunity to join two optional Future Leaders Online Preparation Sessions, which introduce fundamental concepts of speech-writing, preparation, and delivery. Participants seeking a fuller project-based learning experience can choose to engage in optional self-study worksheets designed to provide additional practice before they begin writing and preparing their own speeches.

Future Leaders Online Preparation Sessions: Participants may choose to join two online sessions to learn the basics of speech writing and delivery techniques, as well as engage with self-study worksheets for additional practice.

**These activities are designed to provide additional learning opportunities and are entirely optional. Participation in these activities has no bearing on the adjudication.
Preliminary Round: Participants film themselves giving a speech on a specified topic and submit the video through an online form. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation and constructive feedback from our panel of adjudicators. Qualifying participants will also receive a gold, silver or bronze medal.
Final Round: Ten finalists from each category and age group from the Preliminary Round will be selected to compete live on stage on 29-30 November 2024 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). The final round consists of a prepared speech on a specified topic, followed a series of questions from the panel of adjudicators. First, Second and Third Prize winners will be named.

For the Preliminary Round, each participant will receive a certificate of participation and a report form containing constructive feedback from our panel of adjudicators. Participants who achieve the required band of scores will also receive a gold, silver or bronze medal. These will be delivered through postal service on 19 November 2024.
For the Final Round, each participant will receive a finalist certificate and a report form containing constructive feedback from our panel of adjudicators. The first, second and third prize winners of each category and age group will receive an award trophy.
The first prize winner of Age Group 1 (primary school grades 1-3) will receive a cash prize** of 5,000 THB.
The first prize winner of Age Group 2 (primary school grades 4-6) will receive a cash prize** of 8,000 THB.
The first prize winner of Age Group 3 (secondary school grades 1-3) will receive a cash prize** of 10,000 THB.
The first prize winner of Age Group 4 (secondary school grades 4-6) will receive a cash prize** of 15,000 THB.
Content: This criterion evaluates the depth, originality, and thoughtfulness of the ideas presented in the speech. Participants should effectively communicate relevant facts about the topic, construct persuasive arguments or proposals, and substantiate their points with appropriate supporting evidence. The speech should exhibit coherent thinking, featuring a well-structured logical progression of ideas. Furthermore, it should demonstrate a broad vocabulary range and employ grammatical structures suited to the context.
Delivery: This criterion gauges the participants' capacity to articulate their thoughts clearly. It evaluates the precision of pronunciation at both word and sentence levels, as well as the overall fluency of speech. Participants are expected to deliver their speech in a natural manner, eschewing overt recitation of memorized content.
Leadership Qualities: This criterion assesses participants' ability to demonstrate their potential as future leaders. It evaluates their capacity to capture the audience's attention and keep them engaged throughout the duration of the speech through the use of appropriate body language, eye contact, voice modulation, pacing and pauses. The participants are also assessed on presence, charisma, and confidence, as well as their ability to persuade the audience with effective narratives and compelling arguments.
Questions (Final Round only): The participants are assessed on the relevance and depth of their answers, as well as the fluency of their delivery and the leadership qualities displayed in their responses.

Filming guidelines:
- Record yourself in a quiet environment devoid of echo or audio distortion.
- Select a well-lit location, ensuring clear visibility. Opt for at least Full HD 1080p quality.
- Mount the camera on a tripod or stable surface. In case of unavailability, minimize camera movement – no pans, zooms, or shifts.
- The video must be filmed in one continuous take. Strictly avoid any post-recording edits or enhancements. Any form of manipulation is prohibited. Detection of alterations may result in disqualification. The committee reserves the right to withhold certificates and feedback issuance.
- Speak directly to the camera while filming. If your speech does not contain a self-introduction that includes your full name, please state your full name, followed by a short pause, before beginning your speech.
- Please strictly adhere to the time limit of your age group. Up to 30 seconds beyond the time limit will be permitted. Any content exceeding this additional time will not be evaluated, leading to an incomplete speech that incurs a deduction of marks.
- The timing of your speech starts from the moment you begin your speech. Speeches that fall short of the time limit by more than 10 seconds may be disqualified.
- Although the use of visual aids such as pictures or diagrams is permissible, it is not obligatory, and no extra marks will be awarded for their inclusion. Please note that digital visual aids are not allowed.
- Refrain from engaging in activities that might be interpreted as reading from a script. Your delivery should be natural and spontaneous.

- Your content should be positive and constructive, e.g. aimed at the betterment of individuals or society.
- Avoid topics that involve politics, religious beliefs, violence, or other topics inappropriate for minors. Discriminatory messages or messages containing profanity will be immediately disqualified.

- Upload your video to YouTube or other media sharing platforms and ensure that the setting allows viewing by the public.

- The speech will be delivered on a stage in front of an audience.
- Participants are advised to follow a smart casual dress code.
- Participants will speak using a hand-held microphone.
- Participants are required to submit a short outline of their speech in the form of bullet points in advance. The length should not exceed 300 words.
- Participants may choose to use a single-page visual aid to accompany their speech. This will be shown on a screen behind them. The visual aid should contain minimal text.

- Participants are expected to remain on the stage after finishing their speech and respond to questions from the adjudicating panel.
- The questions will be related to the speech. For example, the adjudicating panel may ask the participants to clarify or expand on a point they have made in their speech, or to respond to counter-arguments, or to give opinions or speculate on related ideas.

สำหรับรอบคัดเลือก ผู้เข้าแข่งขันที่ปฏิบัติตามกติกาการแข่งขันครบถ้วนจะได้รับประกาศนียบัตรที่เข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน และคำแนะนำจากคณะกรรมการ และหากทำคะแนนได้ถึงเกณฑ์ จะได้รับเหรียญรางวัล ได้แก่ เหรียญทอง เหรียญเงิน หรือเหรียญทองแดง ตามระดับคะแนนที่ทำได้ โดยใบประกาศนียบัตรและเหรียญรางวัลจะส่งให้แก่ผู้เข้าแข่งขันทางไปรษณีย์ในวันที่ 19 พฤศจิกายน 2024
สำหรับผู้ที่มีสิทธิ์ผ่านเข้ารอบชิงชนะเลิศ จะได้รับใบประกาศนียบัตรรับรองการเป็นผู้เข้าแข่งขันรอบชิงชนะเลิศ และคำแนะนำจากคณะกรรมการ โดยผู้ที่ทำคะแนนได้สูงสุด 3 อันดับแรกของแต่ละ Category และ Age Group จะได้รับโล่รางวัลชนะเลิศ รางวัลรองชนะเลิศอันดับ 1 และรางวัลรองชนะเลิศอันดับ 2 นอกจากนี้แล้วผู้ที่ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศจะได้รับทุนการศึกษาเป็นรางวัลเงินสด ดังนี้
ผู้ที่ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศสำหรับ Age Group 1 (ระดับประถมศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1-3) จะได้ทุนการศึกษา เป็นเงินสดจำนวน 5,000 บาท**
ผู้ที่ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศสำหรับ Age Group 2 (ระดับประถมศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4-6) จะได้รับทุนการศึกษา เป็นเงินสดจำนวน 8,000 บาท**
ผู้ที่ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศสำหรับ Age Group 3 (ระดับมัธยมศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1-3) จะได้รับทุนการศึกษา เป็นเงินสดจำนวน 10,000 บาท**
ผู้ที่ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศสำหรับ Age Group 4 (ระดับมัธยมศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4-6) จะได้รับทุนการศึกษา เป็นเงินสดจำนวน 15,000 บาท**
เนื้อหา: ประเมินจากความสมเหตุสมผล ความสร้างสรรค์ ตลอดจนความถี่ถ้วนลึกซึ้งของแนวคิดที่นำเสนอในสุนทรพจน์ ผู้เข้าแข่งขันควรให้ข้อมูลที่จำเป็นเกี่ยวกับหัวข้อและนำเสนอความคิดที่สามารถโน้มน้าวใจผู้ฟัง ผ่านการให้เหตุผลและหลักฐานประกอบที่น่าเชื่อถือเพื่อสนับสนุนประเด็นความคิด สุนทรพจน์ควรมีโครงสร้างที่ชัดเจน มีการเรียบเรียงความคิดเชื่อมโยงอย่างเหมาะสมตามหลักตรรกะ และมีการใช้ภาษาที่สละสลวย ประกอบด้วยคำศัพท์ที่หลากหลายและกว้างขวาง และไวยากรณ์ที่มีความซับซ้อนเพียงพอที่จะถ่ายทอดความคิดของตน

คำถามจากคณะกรรมการ (สำหรับรอบชิงชนะเลิศ): ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะได้คะแนนจากการตอบคำถามที่ตรงประเด็นและลึกซึ้ง นอกจากนี้ยังได้รับการประเมินจากความคล่องแคล่วและความฉะฉานในการตอบ และคุณสมบัติความเป็นผู้นำที่แสดงออกผ่านการตอบคำถาม

ข้อแนะนำการบันทึกวิดีโอ:
- บันทึกวิดีโอในสถานที่ที่เงียบ ไร้เสียงรบกวน โดยในวิดีโอจะต้องได้ยินเสียงของผู้สมัครชัดเจน ไม่ก้องหรือขาดหายไม่สมบูรณ์
- ภาพผู้เข้าแข่งขันที่ปรากฏในวิดีโอ จะต้องเห็นโดยชัดเจน ไม่มีสิ่งรบกวน และจะต้องบันทึกด้วยคุณภาพระดับ Full HD 1080p ขึ้นไป
- ควรตั้งอุปกรณ์สำหรับบันทึกวิดีโอให้มั่นคง โดยอาจจะใช้ขาตั้งกล้อง หรืออุปกรณ์เสริมอื่น ๆ เพื่อไม่ให้เกิดการสั่นไหวของภาพ กรณีที่ไม่มีอุปกรณ์ดังกล่าว ให้ตั้งอุปกรณ์สำหรับบันทึกวิดีโอในบริเวณที่สามารถบันทึกวิดีโอได้คุณภาพที่เหมาะสม โดยจะต้องไม่มีการซูมภาพเข้าออก หรือเคลื่อนไหวกล้องใด ๆ ทั้งสิ้น
- บันทึกวิดีโอเป็นการถ่ายยาวเทคเดียว ห้ามทำการแก้ไข ตัดต่อ กดหยุดระหว่างบันทึก หรือใส่ลูกเล่นใด ๆ ทั้งภาพและ/หรือเสียงโดยเด็ดขาด โดยหากตรวจพบ คณะกรรมการจะไม่รับพิจารณาผลงานนั้น ๆ หรือหากตรวจพบภายหลังจากที่ได้ประกาศผลการแข่งขัน คณะกรรมการมีสิทธิ์ที่จะยกเลิกผลการแข่งขัน และขอสงวนสิทธิ์ไม่คืนเงินค่าสมัครในทุกกรณี โดยผู้ที่กระทำผิดกติกานี้จะต้องส่งรางวัลกลับโดยทันที
- โปรดมองที่อุปกรณ์บันทึกวิดีโอเสมือนพูดกับผู้ฟัง โดยในวิดีโอต้องเห็นใบหน้าได้ชัดเจน กรณีที่ในสุนทรพจน์ไม่ได้มีการพูดแนะนำตัวเองรวมอยู่แล้ว กรุณาบอกชื่อและนามสกุลของตนเองตอนต้นคลิป จากนั้นหยุดพักเล็กน้อยแล้วค่อยเริ่มการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์
- ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะต้องกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ภายในเวลาที่กำหนดของแต่ละ Age Group โดยอนุโลมให้มีความยาวเกินกำหนดได้ไม่เกิน 30 วินาที หรือสั้นกว่ากำหนดไม่เกิน 10 วินาที คณะกรรมการสงวนสิทธิ์ไม่พิจารณาเนื้อหาในคลิปวิดีโอหลังเกินกำหนด ซึ่งอาจส่งผลต่อคะแนนที่ได้รับ และไม่รับพิจารณาผลงานที่สั้นกว่ากำหนดเกิน 10 วินาที โดยนับเวลาตั้งแต่วินาทีแรกที่ผู้เข้าแข่งขันเริ่มการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์
- ผู้เข้าแข่งขันสามารถนำภาพประกอบ หรือสื่ออื่น ๆ เข้ามาประกอบเนื้อหาในการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ได้ แต่ไม่มีการให้คะแนนเพิ่มเติมในส่วนนี้ โดยสื่อที่นำมาประกอบอาจเป็นภาพ สิ่งพิมพ์ หรือสิ่งของขนาดเล็ก แต่ห้ามใช้สื่อดิจิทัลทุกประเภท
- การกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ควรเป็นการพูดอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ ไม่ใช่การอ่านหรือการท่องจำแบบตายตัว

- อัปโหลดคลิปวิดีโอที่เป็นผลงานผ่านช่องทางยูทูป หรือสื่อออนไลน์อื่น ๆ โดยตั้งค่าให้เป็นสาธารณะ
- ตั้งชื่อไฟล์ผลงานด้วยรูปแบบดังนี้:

ตัวอย่างเช่น Future Leaders 2024 [Sirikanya Jingtrakarn, Rising Stars, Age Group 1] - ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะได้รับล็อกอินสำหรับการส่งผลงานภายในวันที่ 15 กันยายน 2024 ผ่านทางอีเมลที่ระบุไว้ในใบสมัคร
- ผู้เข้าแข่งขันสามารถส่งผลงานได้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 15-30 กันยายน 2024 โดยหมดเขตการรับผลงานในเวลา 23:59:59 วันที่ 30 กันยายน 2024 ตามเวลาประเทศไทย
- รับสมัครผู้เข้าแข่งขันจำนวนจำกัด หากมีผู้สมัครเข้าร่วมเป็นจำนวนมาก คณะผู้จัดงานขอสงวนสิทธิ์ให้แก่ผู้ที่ส่งผลงานก่อนตามลำดับ และอาจมีการปิดรับสมัครก่อนกำหนด

- รอบชิงชนะเลิศมีกำหนดจัดขึ้นที่หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร ใน วันศุกร์ที่ 29 - วันเสาร์ที่ 30 พฤศจิกายน 2024 เวลา 10.30 น. ถึง 19.00 น.
